Fabricio Coloccini leaves Newcastle

I doubt the name Fabricio Coloccini should be strange to anyone who has been an avid follower of the English Premier League, well, sadly, the long serving defender has decided to start planning retirement as he leaves Newcastle after eight years of service to the club.

The 34 year old central defender who joined the Magpies from Spanish side Deportivo la Coruna in the summer of 2008 has agreed to a mutual contract termination with the club as he is prepared to return to his home country Argentina where he will play for Argentine club San Lorenzo.

Collocini made 275 appearances for the club scoring 7 goals in all competitions. The club wished their former captain all the very best for the rest of his career.
