EURO Semifinal 2 Preview

Germany vs France 20:00 (GMT + 1). Hosts look to stop world champions.

In about an hour, EURO 2016 hosts France will take on the reigning world champions Germany at the Stade Velodrome in France for a spot in the EURO 2016 final showpiece.

Even though France have not always been domineering in their matches, they have always managed to get the job done. Late wins and a draw against Switzerland in the group stage was enough to take them through to the round of 16 where the team stayed strong despite going down early to record a comeback win with Antoine Griezmann finally stepping up.
England's capitulation af the hands of Iceland gave them the perfect chance to exert themselves truly on this competition and they took it with glee. Their 5:2 demolition of Iceland will undoubtedly help their confidence and they will be looking to keep their run going against the world champions and even all the way.

Germany have had a similar run in this tournament. Two wins including a 1:0 win against Northern Ireland and a dour draw against now eliminated Poland secured their progression where a 3:0 demolition of Slovakia set up a matchup against Italy which had to be settled via penalties. The truth is the reigning world champions have had it good but not great. They will be looking to display a show of strength today to capture the minds of fans across the world.

Today at the Velodrome will be a matchup of two truly complete and compact teams and will definitely live up to expectations.

See you at the Velodrome!!
