Liverpool 4:0 Barcelona
Liverpool put in a commanding display at the Wembley Stadium in London as they swept aside Spanish giants in their last International Champions Cup game.
The whopping crowd of 89848 supporters, the second largest recorded match attendance, who were expecting a rout of the English club were shell shocked as new signing Sadio Mane gave Liverpool the lead in the 15th minute when he banged the ball into the roof of the net after some tidy work from Adam Lallana
The attacking duo of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez were effectively marshalled and stifled ensuring the game remained that way at halftime.
However the floodgates flew open just after the restart as Javier Mascherano bundled in Sadio Mane's cross to make it 2:0.
Barcelona were pegged back again almost immediately when second half substitute Stewart fed Origi with a superb through ball that the Belgian dispatched perfectly.
Luiz Suarez who wasn't having his best game was substituted in the 75th minute to a standing ovation from all corners of the stadium.
The rout was completed in the 92nd minute when substitute Grujic sent a looping header past Bravo into the net.
Head coach Jurgen Klopp will be very pleased with the win on the back of a not-too-impressive preseason campaign.
