Things you don't know about professional footballers

It is no longer strange to see players like Cristiano Ronaldo send the ball into the top corner from 30 yards out or to see Lionel Messi leave defenders tumbling
over each other in his wake before delivering a delicate chip over the goalkeeper or to see Luis Suarez literally leave defenders for dead and make the goalkeeper look like a fool with a perfectly placed effort.

Well for those of you who are looking to emulate these guys one day, I'll like to share their lifestyle behind the camera and the crowd and the cheering.

1. They wake up at a fixed time.

2. They have a specific diet determined by dieticians.

3. They are not allowed to party or go drinking or to travel Indiscriminately.

4. They have sex restrictions especially during playing season.

5. They train 6-10 hours a day and spent most of the time left resting.

6. They get injured and have to live with pains for weeks, months and sometimes all their life.

7. They travel all the time leaving loved ones behind for days, sometimes weeks, months or even more than a year.

8. They go through rigorous sometimes extreme physical conditioning to keep in shape.

To be a top soccer player requires extremes of dedication in order to ensure you are 100% for every game. News of ice bucket showers, thousands of daily pushups, miles of daily jogging, physiotherapy sessions, daily gym sessions etc. are not strange among professional footballers.

Equally becoming a professional footballer requires a measure of mental stamina as a result of distance between loved ones. If not properly managed, emotional stress could affect a player's performance on the field of play.

So for the youths among us who want to one day earn >€300000 per week, at least this should give you a vague idea of what it takes.

So to live the life, be ready to make the rounds!!
