Manuel Pellegrini loses first game

Former Manchester City head coach Manuel Pellegrini has lost his first game as Chinese giants' Hebei China Fortune manager. Pellegrini was named Fortune's boss after making way for Pep Guardiola at City where he won the Premier League and two League Cups.
The Chilean who was looking to make a statement on his debut sadly fell to a defeat instead to visitors Guangzhou Evergrande by three goals without reply as the 62 year old's Chinese chapter started on a disappointing note.

The pessimism started when the club's highest earner and former Paris Saint Germain star Ezequiel Lavezzi was omitted from the entire team sheet while Stephane Mbia and Gael Kakuta made the starting XI.

Evergrande took the lead in the 19th minute via a Huang Bowen shot, and they fell further behind moments before the break when Alan's shot found the back of the net.

The rout was completed in the 58th minute when Ricardo Goulart was given space and time to bury a third leaving Fortune in fifth position in the league standings and Manuel Pellegrini a big headache.
