The Champions league opening fixtures wil kick off this evening in various stadia across Europe.
Here are my previews and game predictions for tonight's encounters;
Barcelona vs Celtic
Brendan Rodgers's Celtic are having an impressive league campaign and are in excellent form as they recorded a 5-1 win against eternal rivals Rangers over the weekend.Barcelona on the other hand are having a domestic crisis of sorts as they lost to Alaves during the weekend. However experience has shown that league form doesn't always affect European campaign and Barcelona have enough to see off this challenge.
My Predictions
Barcelona to win.
Celtic to score.
3 or more goals.
Bayern Munich vs Rostov
Bayern Munich are not taking any prisoners, a team of the strength of Werder Bremen was dispatched expertly 6-0 in the opening game of the Bundesliga while Schalke 04 was also swept aside over the weekend. Russian team Rostov will have to pull off some extraordinary performance to defeat the German machine or even leave the Allianz Arena with a draw.My Predictions
Bayern to win by two goals or more
Game to have 2 goals in the first half.
Manchester City vs Borussia M'gladbach
Pep Guardiola's team welcome German team Borussia M'gladbach to the Etihad Stadium and this could be a very tricky tie especially with the weaknesses displayed by City over the weekend. However M'gladbach have not been in good shape losing to Frieburg over the weekend and will need to reconjure their best form to do better than Manchester United and give The Citizens problems tonight. My Predictions
High scoring game.
Manchester City not to lose.
PSG vs Arsenal.
Last season's quarter finalists Paris Saint Germain will welcome the Gunners to the Parc des Princes tonight and Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger will be the more relaxed of the coaches considering the poor form of the French giants.
Plating in front of their own fans could however inspire the Ligue 1 defending champions to an improbable win.My Predictions
PSG not to lose.
Both teams to score.
PSV vs Atletico Madrid
Dutch team PSV came very close to eliminating Atletico Madrid last season pushing the eventual finalists until they were finally beaten by the lottery of a penalty shootout. Atletico Madrid are looking to make a early statement of intent while PSV will be working towards qualifying from the group hence serving up a potential tightly contested clash at the Philips Stadion later today.
My Predictions
Both teams to score
High scoring game
PSV not to lose.
