England's new head coach Sam Allardyce will handle his first game in charge of the Three Lions today as they take on Marek Hamsik's Slovakia in a crucial World Cup qualifying game.
"Big Sam", England's 14th manager, who got appointed after Roy Hodgson's inglorious resignation is widely expected to better the fortunes of the team and lead them to a much better showing in the 2018 World Cup.
The journey to the 2018 showpiece begins today and the 61 year old has admitted to nerves ahead of his first game in charge. History is however on the side of the Dudley native as the last coach to lose the first game in charge was Sir Alf Ramsey in 1963. Would Big Sam continue the record of success or will he match Sir Ramsey's "achievement"?
All eyes on you, Sam.
