Atletico National has been crowned as the 2016 winners of the Americas Champions league, the Copa Libertadores.
The Colombian team saw off the challenge of surprise finalists Ecuador's Independiente del Valle as they won the tie 2:1 on aggregate over both legs.
The first leg of the tie had ended on a finely poised 1:1 scoreline and the competition's surprise package Independiente had talked up their chances of winning their first crown but alas it was not to be.
A powerful early strike from one of the stars of the tournament so far Miguel Borja after the Independiente goalkeeper parried a free kick into his path sealed a 1:0 win for the Colombians who have won their first Copa crown since 1989.
Congratulations Atletico!!
