United could kick start their season with Tottenham win

Manchester United's season has not really gone according to plan so far, a new world class manager, new top players but despite a unbeaten run (they have not lost in their last 6 games), the team has not really played together and finding the back of the net has been an issue for the 20 time English champions.

They have conceded late goals in three of their last few games and have shown signs of disjoint play. Just when the patience of the United fans were running out especially with Belgium's Fellaini's inclusion against Everton and his subsequent conceding of a penalty, the team put up a near perfect performance to defeat Mauricio Pochettino's men.

You could argue that history was always on United's side as Tottenham has a dismal record at the Theater of Dreams, but anyone who watched the game would appreciate the marked improvement in certain areas like their defending. Marcos Rojo who has made a case for himself this season after rumors of his imminent exit was stellar throughout the game making a personal best in terms of interceptions.

Equally the attacking movement of the team overall was a lot better as lots of chances were created with players like Anthony Martial and Zlatan Ibrahimovich missing clear chances. The recent inclusion of Henrikh Mkhitaryan in starting lineups has give United a new dimension in attack as the Armenian has hit a rich vein of form.

On another day this would have been a routine win but with United recent troubles, the confidence a win over Spurs brings could be the perfect catalyst to turn their season around for good and give them the much needed inspiration to start challenging for the top prizes again.
