Ilkay damaged cruciate knee ligaments in City's midweek win against Watford when he collided with Nordin Amrabat and he had to leave the pitch minutes later. It has been announced that he is set to miss about six months of action.
Gundogan has been an ever present for Manchester City this season after his move from Borussia Dortmund with the highlight of his game so far being his double in the return leg of the UEFA Champions League match against Barcelona.
The 26 year old posted a quote from the 2006 film 'Rocky Balboa' on his Twitter page with readers still unsure if the quote was aimed at himself or the City fans. For me, i think it was neither and he is just a Rocky fan, (don't quote me)
The quote reads;
"It ain't about how hard ya hit
its about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward
how much you can take and keep moving forward
that's how winning is done"
Admit it, this is classic. At least he signed out in style.
