Germany sets up Brazil clash

Germany 2:0 Nigeria. World champions reach final.

Germany has set up a final clash with Brazil after getting past Nigeria at the Arena Corinthians in Sao Paulo tonight. Germany in their trademark fashion took the game to the West Africans and their pressure
counted as in the 9th minute, Lukas Klostermann tapped in Max Meyer's cross for the opening goal.

Nigeria went out on the attack with the Germans content to sit back and created various chances but were not able to take any. One of their best chances came when Mikel has his shot blocked by Matthias Ginter after he had left another defender for dead with some superb footwork.

Fatigue caused some disjoint play among the Nigerians and Stanley Amuzie blasted a free kick over in the 80th minute.

The game was put to bed however in the 89th minute when a quick break led to Nils Peterson burying a David Selke cross.

Brazil come into the final game on Sunday on the back of a 5:0 demolition of Honduras and will be looking to avenge their 7:1 defeat at the just concluded World Cup.

Nigeria on the other hand will be leaving no stone unturned to secure the bronze medal against Honduras.
