Top records set this weekend (MUST READ)

Manchester City have bettered an ancient record set in 1897/98 of seven consecutive wins. However their 4:0 victory against Bournemouth yesterday is their eighth consecutive victory thereby setting a new record. With Manchester City's new found form and confidence as a result of new manager Pep Guardiola's impact, this is a record that could be improved on in subsequent games.

Real Madrid's win against Espanyol tonight is their 16th consecutive victory setting a new record of consecutive victories. Real Madrid are yet to drop points this season and continued their winning run from last season to better their previous record of 15 consecutive victories.

In other news, Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho has lost his third competitive game in a row for the first time since 2001/2002. United lost the Manchester Derby to Guardiola's men before capitulating to Feyenoord mid week and then losing to Watford today prompting calls for Mourinho's head this early in the season.

What a week!!
